I just got a requirements to implement a highly customized Task Order entity in CRM that is essentially a 1 to 1 replica of the Opportunity functionality. There are several picklist values that run as deep as 279 individual values (upgrade from a 1.2 Installation). Yes, its unsupported but I am working with a couple of applications that will generate the XML I can add to the customizations XML. Here are the credits and links:
